United Guilds’ Service and Lunch 2023
The UGS was first held in February 1943 as a coordinated response to the challenges faced by the City of London following the Blitz of 1940-41. It was also a reminder of the religious origins of the Guilds. The first service to be conducted was held on Lady Day – 25th March 1943 - the first day of the year by the old calendar. This annual service is held at St Pauls Cathedral with a limited number of tickets being allocated to each Livery Company. Tickets are limited so please ensure you book in plenty of time. The Master and Wardens of the Stationers’ Company are delighted to invite you and your Liverymen to join them at Stationers’ Hall for Lunch, following the United Guilds’ Service at St Paul’s Cathedral on Friday, 24 March 2023. Drinks will be served from 12.30 pm in the Court Room, followed by lunch in the Hall and Stock Room at 1.00 pm. Lunch will consist of three courses with red and white wine; a glass of port will also be served.
