United Guilds’ Service and Lunch 2024

The United Guilds’ Service (UGS) was first held in February 1943 as a coordinated response to the challenges faced by the City of London following the Blitz of 1940-41.

It was also a reminder of the religious origins of the Guilds. The first service to be conducted was held on Lady Day – 25th March 1943 – the first day of the year by the old calendar.

This annual service is held at St Pauls Cathedral is one of the few occasions in the Livery calendar at which all the Livery Companies and Guilds of the City can gather together as a whole – it is always a spectacular occasion, and one not to be missed if you haven’t attended before.

We have a small number of seats available for the service, and for lunch at Stationers’ Hall after the service (you may attend the service without attending the lunch). Tickets are strictly available on a first-come-first-served basis for both the service and lunch, so early booking is essential.

The Master and Wardens of the Stationers’ Company are delighted to invite you and your Liverymen to join them at Stationers’ Hall for Lunch, following the United Guilds’ Service at St Paul’s Cathedral on Friday, 15 March 2024.

Drinks will be served from 12.30 pm in the Court Room, followed by lunch in the Hall and Stock Room at 1.00 pm.
Lunch will consist of three courses with red and white wine; a glass of port will also be served.
