Installation Dinner 2026

Drapers' Hall Throgmorton Avenue, London

This 2026 Installation Dinner will be held at Drapers' Hall on Monday 5 October 2026. The Drapers' Livery Hall is one of the finest grand rooms anywhere in London. The vast ceiling is adorned with scenes from Shakespeare’s plays ‘The Tempest’ and ‘Midsummer Night’s Dream’ and around the walls is displayed some splendid silver. Marble-columned, galleried, gilded and hung with royal portraits, this is where members of the Royal Family and other heads of state have dined. No surprise then, that it regularly appears on television as Buckingham Palace. This event is to celebrate the Installation of Sally Orton as Master, as well as Malcolm Bacchus as Senior Warden, and the Junior Warden. After dinner, attendees will hear from Alderman Sir Charles Bowman JP FCA, who served as the 690th Lord Mayor of London. He joined Price Waterhouse in 1983 and qualified as a chartered accountant in 1986. He was a partner in Price Waterhouse and PwC from 1995 to 2020 and has been an adviser to the firm since then. LSO Annual City Livery Concert and Reception – 20th Anniversary

The Barbican Centre Silk St, Barbican, London, United Kingdom

Members of The Worshipful Company of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and their family and associates are invited to the London Symphony Orchestra’s 20th Anniversary City Livery Concert and Reception on Thursday 29 October 2026 at The Barbican Centre. Celebrating two decades, the Annual City Livery Concert has become a much-loved fixture in the City of London calendar; both a vibrant showcase of the wealth of art and culture in the Square Mile, and an opportunity for the LSO to express gratitude to the companies, clubs, and guilds of the City whose continued support enables world-leading music-making on their doorstep. I am especially grateful to Graham Barker, Past Master of The Worshipful Company of Arts Scholars, and his wife Joanna, for their longstanding commitment to this special occasion and am delighted to welcome John Harte in his first season as Managing Director of the London Symphony Orchestra. Conducted by LSO Chief Conductor Sir Antonio Pappano, this year’s programme opens with Anatoly Liadov’s The Enchanted Lake. Bursting with orchestral colour and atmosphere, this miniature masterpiece of Russian Romanticism conjures a magical, dreamlike world that feels both mysterious and utterly transporting. Mezzo-soprano Fleur Barron then joins the Orchestra for the world premiere of Hannah Kendall’s I have discovered the secret of death. One of today’s most exciting compositional voices, Kendall brings a powerful contemporary perspective to this eagerly anticipated new work, commissioned by the LSO. The evening concludes with Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No 5, one of the great orchestral masterpieces: a thrilling journey from darkness to triumph, filled with unforgettable melodies and sweeping emotion. By turns tragic, passionate and heroic, it remains one of the most moving works in the symphonic repertoire. We invite you to bring family to share in this celebratory evening, and there are a wide range of restaurants and dining options in the Barbican and surrounding...
