FSG invitation – Justice for All Series

Central Criminal Court The, Old Bailey, London

Introduction: Justice underpins our freedoms, our economy, and our civic life. Yet our systems are under pressure—underfunded, overstretched, and outdated. The Justice for All Series provides a platform to confront this reality with honesty and ambition. Conceived by Alderman Robert Hughes-Penney, Sheriff of the City of London (2025–26), and hosted at the Central Criminal Court (Old Bailey), this five-part series brings together those in a position to ask hard questions—and propose evidence-based solutions. Framed around the anniversaries of Magna Carta (1225) and UN Sustainable Development Goal 16, the series does not seek consensus, but clarity: What does a just society require today? Who must act? And what will it cost us if we do not? For full details and bookings please click here: Home - Justice for All Series

Event Series Inter-Livery Golf

Inter-Livery Golf – open to all!

We have a core base of over 20 active members, including our current Master, but anyone who is a member of our Livery Company is a de facto member of the Golf Society with no additional subscription. If any member is interested they simply have to express their interest to Paul Druckman on paul.druckman@gmail.com and indicate which fixtures they may be able to play during the season. Paul can provide more details and welcome you with open arms! Our fixtures are open to all members of our Company. The golf clubs we play are some of the best in the country, with a strong southern England bias I am afraid. They are a mixture of matches against other Livery Companies and within events run by a Livery Company but with teams from multiple Companies. Our internal competition is played at Royal Wimbledon on 7th September with only our Livery Company members, a joyous occasion attended by many for the Gardener Challenge Bowls presented by Kenneth Gardener (Senior Past Master) every year. Please see full fixture list below: Tandridge - Match v CAGS - 9 April 2026 - Match 4BBB Ashridge - Horners' Inter Livery Golf - 10 June 2026 - Team 4BBB London Club - Pewterers Challenge - 26 June 2026 - Better Ball Pairs Verulam - Marketors Ryder Cup - 6 July 2026 - Team 4BBB Porters Park - IT Livery - 20th July 2026 - Team 4BBB Woking - Match v City Livery Club - 31 July 2026 - Match 4BBB Royal Wimbledon - Gardener Challenge Bowls - 7 September 2026 - Drawn Pairs

The Two Mile Revolution – City ‘Treasure Hunt’ Walk

Get your teams ready for a bit of competition round the City! “The Two Mile Revolution”   You will journey from Temple Bar Memorial to Threadneedle Street along the route where the most significant moments in medieval London unfolded. Using observation, deduction and a little research you will uncover clues connected to the Knights Templar and the Barons’ War, moving through streets where rebels, crusading knights, merchants and kings once competed for power.     Each team will divide the roles of navigator, clue-master and visual spotter, working together to solve forty challenges hidden along the two mile route. The aim is to get the most points along the way to become the winning team! Scores will be counted up at the end, and the winner revealed while you enjoy drinks and canapés on a rooftop terrace overlooking the City.   Tickets: £50 To include the walk, question sheets, and rooftop drinks & canapés Time: Meet at 5.30pm - teams will be set up a start times staggered

Interlivery Golf Croquet – register your interest

Sussex County Croquet Club Victoria Road, Southwick

The Interlivery Golf Croquet Competition will be held this year on Saturday 27 June 2026 at Southwick near Brighton, commencing at 9:30am for 10:00am. Many of you will remember that we won the trophy last year - Jonathan Grosvenor and Lynn Pearcy doing an excellent job - and the Chartered Accountants' Company is taking a team again this year. We have a full team for this year based on past players and those who were reserves last year. We would still welcome more members who would like to play, but standing as reserves for this year. If you are interested, please reply by email. If you have a croquet handicap (golf or association) do include that in your email. Experience of golf croquet is not a requirement though for the competition as there is a short training session before the competition itself begins. The day is great fun and the Southwick Croquet Club, our hosts, provide lunch and afternoon tea and there is also a pay bar. The day usually finishes around 4:00pm. We do already have a full team for the current year (unless the team captain breaks a leg as he did last year) but we would really welcome supporters to come along, cheer, have a drink at the bar and meet the members from our own and other liveries. There are limited places for guests for lunch (at £60 per head) but these have to booked in advance. Again, let us know if you would like to come and watch. Finally, if croquet appeals but you don't want put your name forward for the team - and there are limited places - or even know little about it and would like to learn - still let us know and we could think about a smaller internal friendly...

Much Ado About Nothing

Globe Theatre 21 New Globe Walk, Bankside, London, United Kingdom

Sharp tongues and savage gossip fuel a messy, magnetic attraction in this new production of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing in the Globe Theatre. The war is over, but the battle for love is just beginning. Beatrice has sworn off men, but there’s something about Benedick she just can’t leave alone. Meanwhile, beneath Messina’s polished surface, secrets slip, gossip runs wild and reputations hang by a thread. Everyone’s saving face – and nobody’s doing it very well. Set in a sun-soaked world of style and status, where image is everything and late-night parties blur into dawn, Chelsea Walker’s (All’s Well That End’s Well, Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, Globe) Much Ado About Nothing is one of Shakespeare’s most incisive romantic comedies. An unfiltered look at bad behaviour, second chances, and recovering from old wounds. ‘Therein do men from children nothing differ.’ Tickets: £86.50 please purchase online below Time: 2pm-4.30pm approx. Followed by an optional meal at The Swan London nextdoor.
