Vicky has travelled extensively, visiting 4 continents outside Europe. But one of her most memorable trips was a visit to St Kilda, off the west coast of Scotland, in 2019.  St Kilda is an archipelago, some 40 miles west of the Outer Hebrides. It is the UK's only dual UNESCO World Heritage Site – something that only 39 sites in the world can claim. The distinction has been awarded because of St Kilda’s natural and cultural heritage. Vicky will share with us the highs and lows of her own trip, including the challenges of actually getting there. Istanbul, a fascinating city built on two Continents, divided by the Bospheros Strait. This is one of the greatest cities in the world where you can see a modern western city combined with a traditional eastern city, it's a melting pot of many civilizations and different people. From the foundation of Byzantium in the 7th century BC until today, Istanbul held always an important role in the history of humanity in this part of the world. The tour will encompass the Old City with the Byzantine Hippodrome, the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, the Spice Market and a glance on the Topkapı Palace. Our speaker who will be speaking directly from Istanbul will give us a live streaming presentation with a beautiful video of the city.
