DESCRIPTION:You are invited to a Pub Takeover!\nOn Monday 5 February\, the Financial Services Group of Livery Companies are holding a social evening\nat the historic ‘Hand & Shears’ public house at 1 Middle St\, Barbican\, London EC1A 7JA situated 100m from the Barbican exit of the Elizabeth Line Farringdon Station. \nThis event is open to any member from the Companies below and is entirely open in format. The pub will be exclusively ours for the night from 6pm till 11pm. The idea of the event is that members from across the broad financial services sector will be able to meet and mingle with no agenda apart from serendipity and no cost apart from what you spend over the bar. And what better thing to do on a likely cold bleak night in the City (and possibly to break your ‘dry January’) but to meet up in one of the City’s oldest pubs with like-minded people? It is one of the few ancient Livery Halls remaining in the City of London. Completed in 1673 after the Great Fire of London\, the Hall’s suite of magnificent\, inter-linking rooms\, as well as its secluded garden\, makes it one of the most sought after venues in the City. \nAfter the meal\, Members and their guests will hear from Geordie Greig\, who\, after a distinguished career in the press\, including a tour as Editor of the Daily Mail\, is now the Editor of The Independent.
