SUMMARY:Inter-Livery Golf - open to all!
DESCRIPTION:We have a core base of over 20 active members\, including our current Master\, but anyone who is a member of our Livery Company is a de facto member of the Golf Society with no additional subscription. If any member is interested they simply have to express their interest to Paul Druckman on paul.druckman@gmail.com and indicate which fixtures they may be able to play during the season. Paul can provide more details and welcome you with open arms!\n\nOur fixtures are open to all members of our Company.\nThe golf clubs we play are some of the best in the country\, with a strong southern England bias I am afraid. They are a mixture of matches against other Livery Companies and within events run by a Livery Company but with teams from multiple Companies.\n\nOur internal competition is played at Royal Wimbledon on 7th September with only our Livery Company members\, a joyous occasion attended by many for the Gardener Challenge Bowls presented by Kenneth Gardener (Senior Past Master) every year.\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease see full fixture list below: \nTandridge – Match v CAGS – 9 April 2026 – Match 4BBB \nAshridge – Horners’ Inter Livery Golf – 10 June 2026 – Team 4BBB \nLondon Club – Pewterers Challenge – 26 June 2026 – Better Ball Pairs \nVerulam – Marketors Ryder Cup – 6 July 2026 – Team 4BBB \nPorters Park – IT Livery – 20th July 2026 – Team 4BBB \nWoking – Match v City Livery Club – 31 July 2026 – Match 4BBB \nRoyal Wimbledon – Gardener Challenge Bowls – 7 September 2026 – Drawn Pairs

SUMMARY:Much Ado About Nothing
DESCRIPTION:Sharp tongues and savage gossip fuel a messy\, magnetic attraction in this new production of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing in the Globe Theatre. \nThe war is over\, but the battle for love is just beginning. Beatrice has sworn off men\, but there’s something about Benedick she just can’t leave alone. \nMeanwhile\, beneath Messina’s polished surface\, secrets slip\, gossip runs wild and reputations hang by a thread. Everyone’s saving face – and nobody’s doing it very well. \nSet in a sun-soaked world of style and status\, where image is everything and late-night parties blur into dawn\, Chelsea Walker’s (All’s Well That End’s Well\, Sam Wanamaker Playhouse\, Globe) Much Ado About Nothing is one of Shakespeare’s most incisive romantic comedies. \nAn unfiltered look at bad behaviour\, second chances\, and recovering from old wounds. \n\n‘Therein do men from children nothing differ.’ \n\n\nTickets: £86.50 please purchase online below \nTime: 2pm-4.30pm approx.\nFollowed by an optional meal at The Swan London nextdoor. \nBuy Tickets HERE

SUMMARY:City Livery Sailing Challenge - register your interest
DESCRIPTION:Learn full details here: https://www.cityliverysailingchallenge.co.uk/ \nIf you are interested\, please contact Clare Ferrar on clareferrar@accountantslivery.org who can direct you to the lead contact from the Chartered Accountants’ Livery Company. \n\nWe are delighted that you have expressed an interest in competing in the City Livery Sailing Challenge for the Princess Royal Challenge Cup presented by the Glass Sellers. The regatta will be organised by the Sea View Yacht Club on September 12th. The event will begin on Friday 11th September evening with an informal supper when we hope that you bring not only your crews but as many supporters as you can muster. \nThe format for the sailing will be as follows: \n09.00 – Briefing Meeting\n10.00 – First Mermaid Race for the first 12 Livery Companies\n11.30 – Second Mermaid Race for second 12 Livery Companies\n12.00 – Lunch\n14.00 – Third Race for the last 6 Mermaids in the first and second races\n15.30 – Final Mermaid Race for first 6 in the first and second races to establish to winner.\n19.00 – Reception and Prize-giving. Dress Smart Casual especially if you think you are a prize winner!\n20.15 – Dinner \nThere will be an opportunity to practise on Friday evening from 5pm for which there will be an extra £50 charge. \n5pm – Practice Mermaid charter\, a chance to hone your skills and have a go \nFrom 7pm – Drinks in the Sea View Yacht Club (casual dress) \n8pm ’til late – Supper at the Sea View Yacht Club. \n\nIf you wish to enter more than one boat then there will be an additional fee of £200. \nSince the regatta raises money for the Lord Mayor’s Appeal and the Seaview Sailing Trust it is usual for the livery company to pay for the charter fee but all the other costs of entertainment to include supper on Friday\, the reception\, prizegiving and dinner on Saturday would normally be met by the individuals themselves. The cost of this is £100 per person and it would be helpful and save hours of work for the organisers if this cost could be collected by the team captains and remitted in one sum.  It would also be helpful if each team would nominate a Team Captain and send us their contact details in order to keep communication simple. The cost of entertaining will be collected on or before 1st September please and sent to the same account as the charter fee. Also it would be greatly appreciated if you could send us the names of the attendees so that we can compile a guest list. \nTravel to the Island by Hovertravel or Wightlink FastCat to Ryde is probably the less expensive crossing but none of them are cheap. \n
