Globe Theatre Tour plus Romeo and Juliet

Members and their guests are warmly invited to join our Livery’s party for a tour behind the scenes at the late Sam Wanamaker’s famous Globe Theatre, at 11.30am. Our party will then stay on for a performance of Shakespeare’s famous play about the fierce political rivalries within Verona society and its inevitably doomed lovers. Seeing this play in the round is a great experience, especially when it is performed by a company that specialises in doing so – it’s a distinct skill for an actor to project to an arc of about 280 degrees.
Once again, we are going thanks to the good offices of our Beverley Turner and Steven Whitaker, who are Friends of the theatre. By picking a Sunday matinee, Members and their guests (one per Member) should be spared much of the traffic which can otherwise cause such problems in that part of London.
We will meet in the lobby before the tour and then after the performance, at about 4pm, Beverley will lead those who wish to a local restaurant (paid for separately) for a late tea/early supper.
